Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has unveiled a plan to transform Rashid Hospital into a fully integrated medical city with specialized clinics and centers as well as an international heart center, rehabilitation, entertainment and shopping centers and staff accommodation, according to Dr. Younis Kazim, Confirmed that the first phase of the major expansion plan will be completed within five years.

He explained to Emirates Today that the expansion and comprehensive development that will be witnessed by the hospital in the coming years, will also include centers for the training and rehabilitation of medical staff, according to the latest programs used globally.

He pointed out that the Authority is in the process of prioritizing the construction process, noting that it is scheduled to start the establishment of clinics and medical centers first, while the construction of residential towers will begin in the end.

The expansion also includes an increase in the number of beds, medical staff and the overall transformation of the hospital into an integrated city providing a healthy environment for both doctors and patients.

He said many details of the plan, which include the start date and the building's drawings, will be announced at the time of completion of the study, and set priorities for the start, and the stages during which the city will be implemented. He stressed that the Authority considered that all the medical and therapeutic services in the establishment of the city based on artificial intelligence, and harness the latest of modern technology in its services.

"The new city will include therapeutic services using robots for surgical operations and telemedicine operations to become unique in its services worldwide."

"The plan is designed to meet the growing demand for health services in the emirate, especially as the number of residents and visitors continues to increase. The emergency department in the hospital serves about 450 patients daily, and the daily demand is increasing as residents and residents of Dubai enjoy health insurance services.

He said that the Authority plans to establish the largest heart center in the world, within the campus of the new city, which will provide the latest methods of treatment in terms of medicines, catheterization and radiation.

Rashid Hospital currently has 771 beds, serving all specialties. It has been classified as the largest emergency and injury hospital in the Emirate of Dubai and the region. It includes surgical and medical units, specialized intensive care, operating rooms and clinical support.

The hospital provides patient and client services through emergency, inpatient and outpatient facilities. The hospital emergency department can handle 10 ambulances at one time, one of the largest and most crowded in the region, with 73 beds.

Dubai Health Authority (DHCC) Executive Director Dr. Yunus Kazem said that the hospitals and health center centers are on the verge of developing services and equipment to provide better treatment for citizens and residents without waiting for long periods of time.
