At least 30 people received injuries of varying severity after the failure of the metro escalator at the Repubblica station in the center of Rome. It is reported that there were many fans of the Russian CSKA on the gondola, who arrived in the city for the match of the Champions League with Roma, but the exact number of injured Russians is still unknown. According to the Russian Embassy in Italy, seven of the wounded are in serious condition, five are in moderate condition, and another 18 people received light injuries.
