Donald Trump had raised the possibility of closing the border with Mexico on Thursday on Twitter, but this Friday, March 29, he said he could do it as early as next week, if Mexico does not act more effectively to fight against illegal immigration.

It is a usual refrain of the American president: he regularly compares the arrival of illegal immigrants to an invasion, and perceives immigration as a threat.
Donald Trump has already mentioned the idea of closing the border to stop illegal arrivals in the United States, but this is the first time he has set a deadline. As early as next week he wrote on Twitter. A little later, he reiterated this threat, but without mentioning maturity.

76,000 people illegally crossed the border in February: the highest number of the decade. The Trump Administration's very harsh policy towards migrants has so far not produced the hoped-for results.
