An end to the budget freeze in the US is still unpredictable. The dispute between US President Donald Trump and the Democrats now also has consequences for the annual state of the nation speech: He will not speak until the "shutdown" is over, Trump tweeted.

Because of its history, tradition and importance, only the House of Representatives could be considered a place. He will therefore not look for any other place. The House Speaker, Democrat Nancy Pelosi, had suggested that he postpone the speech because of the partial government shutdown or just publish it in writing.

"I'm not looking for another place for the speech," Trump continued. He looks forward to having a "great" speech soon

As the Shutdown was going on, Nancy Pelosi asked me to give the State of the Union Address. I agreed. She then changed her mind because of the shutdown, suggesting a later date. This is her prerogative - I will do the Address when the Shutdown is over. I am not looking for you ....

... alternative venue for the SOTU Address because there is no venue that can compete with the history, tradition and importance of the House Chamber. I look forward to giving a "great" State of the Union Address in the near future!

Trump actually wanted to deliver his speech on January 29 in the House of Representatives' parliamentary hall. Pelosi made in the course of the dispute over the "shutdown" but their house right use and locked Trump de facto with reference to the government stoppage. "I hereby inform you that the House of Representatives is not considering a joint resolution to authorize the President's speech before the government resumes," Pelosi said.

In her letter to Trump, Pelosi called "security issues" as the reason for her objections. Because the budget lock concerns - with restrictions - also the Secret Service, which is responsible for the protection of the President, and the Department of Homeland Security.

Democrat Pelosi against TrumpImmer Kontra

For around four weeks, parts of the government apparatus have been shut down in the US because the dispute over Trump's request for a wall on the border with Mexico did not lead to the passing of a budget law. Trump refuses to sign a law that does not include money for the wall. The Democrats, whose votes he relies on in Congress, reject that.

Pelosi and Trump blame each other for the now-stalemate. According to polls, the majority of Americans believe Trump's $ 5.7 billion call for building a wall on the Mexican border is a problem.
