“In support of (her claim), Maria Butina states that the indictment is built on a fragile basis from the point of view of the Constitution,” the document says.

As noted in the petition, the charges violate the principle of freedom of speech, and some of the charges are not sufficiently different, therefore there is no reason to bring them separately.

Earlier it was reported that the new hearings on the case of Russian women Maria Butina will be held in Washington's federal district court on December 6.

Butina was detained on July 15, she is accused of working for a Russian official who is on the US list of sanctions.
