For the Vietnamese t-shirt designer Trung Thanh Duc, the impending summit between US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un is an opportunity to launch a new set of costumes.

Although this group may not enjoy the luxury of fashion shows in Paris, Milan or New York, Duke's shop in Hanoi attracts attention because of a new fashion line, Kim and Trump.

Duk, 56, already sold about 200 shirts in one day until Thursday afternoon, local time, on the first day of the new fashion show. Buying has increased by nearly 50% on the daily average, the designer says.

"I like to sell pictures of great men in the world," said Duck, in the store where he designs and prints shirts.
The new collection includes a T-shirt, Kim and Peace. Another shirt carries a Trump image wearing a traditional conical hat in Vietnam.

The shirt is sold at 100 thousand dong (about $ 3.50). The new collection is set along with the t-shirts bearing portraits of other dignitaries whom Duck sees as "great men" such as Russian President Vladimir Putin, former US President Barack Obama and Cuban revolutionary symbol Che Guevara.

Duck said he was especially fond of Trump because of his enormous wealth, but also impressed Kim.

"For Mr. Kim, even though he comes from a state unlike Trump, for the sake of his people, he has accepted to open his country to the world," Duck said.

He said he hoped the summit scheduled for February 27-28 in Hanoi would help the current peace efforts for the Korean Peninsula.

"We are a country that has seen a lot of war. So we understand and expect good results at this summit held in my country ».
