Crime: reports of gunfire in mosque in New Zealand

Wellington (AP) - An unknown gunman is said to have opened the fire in a mosque in the New Zealand city of Christchurch. Initially, the police merely confirmed that they had been alerted by gunfire and that everyone in the city center should not take to the streets for safety reasons. The former president of the local Muslim Association said he was in the mosque at the time of the crime and told online news portal Stuff he had seen at least four injured. Two people were lying on the ground and may be dead.
