Conflicts: Trump and Erdogan talk about the situation in Syria
TIME ONLINE | News, backgrounds and debates
Washington (AP) - US President Donald Trump and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan exchanged views on the situation in Syria in a telephone conversation. Both had agreed to continue working to create a possible security zone in northern Syria, the White House said. This would be at the expense of the Kurds who are at war with Turkey. The US, on the other hand, is morally committed to the Kurds, who have contributed a great deal to the military defeat of the terrorist network IS.
