Victor of Aveyron is a French wild child, found in the Aveyron when he was about twelve years old and died in Paris in 1828. Born around 1790, Taken in charge by Dr. Jean Itard (founder of psychiatry of the child), his clinical approach shows that his many atypical scars do not relate to life in the forest, but to severe abuse and attempted homicide. Victor of Aveyron was retrospectively described as an autistic child, probably abandoned by his family.
