A 45 year old biker died after being hit by a car Friday in Dompierre-sur-Mer (Charente-Maritime). The driver of the vehicle, aged 22, was driving against the departmental road and had used drugs and alcohol. On Sunday, the young woman was indicted for "manslaughter" and placed in custody.

A 22-year-old female driver was indicted for "manslaughter under the influence of alcohol and drug use" on the evening of Sunday, November 4. She is suspected of having fatally hit a biker Friday evening, 2 November in Dompierre-sur-Mer, near La Rochelle (Charente-Maritime).

The man, a 45-year-old father, had died instantly. The accident occurred while the young motorist was driving against the national 11. Interpellée, the young woman spent 48 hours in custody, reports France Blue La Rochelle .

Up to ten years in prison

The examinations then carried out showed that she drove after consuming alcohol and narcotics. Tests are still in progress to determine whether the young woman, originally from Charente-Maritime, was still under the influence of these various substances at the time of the collision.
