Roger Stone, former US President Donald Trump's advisor, again apologized in court for an Instagram post that showed his judge a crosshair in the background.

On Tuesday, Stone posted the picture on Instagram, where Judge Amy Berman Jackson can be seen next to a cross that was interpreted as a crosshair. Shortly thereafter, Stone had apologized and the photo was deleted.

Nevertheless, he had to appear in court on the case today: he had disrespected the post office for a secrecy order that had been imposed on him because of a criminal case in connection with the Russia investigation by Robert Mueller. There he apologized again: "I disobeyed the order," Stone said during the hearing. "I'm angry about my own stupidity."

Then he asked the judge Jackson for a second chance: "Forgive me the transgression." Jackson tightened the secrecy order: Stone may not speak publicly about his lawsuit, address it in social media, or indirectly comment on the process via proxies. She threatened Stone with imprisonment if he ignored the orders.
