Armed forces and police commandos surrounded the airliner that landed on the runway.

Local passengers have been reported to have a crew member suspicious of a male passenger in the country of Bangladesh, which is heading for Dubai from the capital of Bangladesh.

The man tried to enter the cockpit with a pistol and demanded a dialogue with Bangladesh, foreign sources said. Not listening to his demands, the man threatened to blow up the plane.

The airliner landed an emergency landing at Shamanat airport in Chittagong about 40 minutes after takeoff, and soon the military and police commandos were fired and gunfire went on.

The suspected kidnapper was killed on the spot in response to the request of the commandos.

Prior to the shooting, more than 140 passengers and crew members escaped safely from the plane.

Bangladesh aviation security officials say the suspect appeared mentally unstable, saying he wanted to talk to his wife.
