"As of September, more than 9,000 CIS citizens are in the CIS interstate search for crimes of a terrorist and extremist nature," he said.
At the same time, Novikov added that about 5 thousand of them are mercenaries who took part in hostilities as part of illegal armed formations on the territory of foreign states.
Earlier, SCO Secretary General Rashid Alimov said that the fight against terrorism remains the key priority of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
