ASN further reduces the interest on the savings accounts. On the main savings products, the interest rate will fall from 0.10 percent to 0.08 percent from Thursday. For business accounts, interest rates fall from 0.05 percent to 0.03 percent.

This reported ASN Tuesday. The bank blames the interest rate cut on the lower interest rates on the money market, the place where banks can attract and expand financing for a short time.

This interest rate for short-term contracts is the basis for bank savings interest. After this interest rate has already dropped for a number of years, the rate is still at low level. According to ASN savings rates will not rise in the short term.

The fact that interest rates on mortgages have risen slightly is due to the fact that interest rates on the capital market, where financing is extended and attracted for a longer period, did rise slightly.

All banks are in this development. For example, major banks offer ABN Amro, Rabobank and ING interest rates of 0.03 percent on savings deposits that can be taken directly.
