Algerian opposition parties called for the continuation of the movement, rejecting what it called the imposition of a policy of fait accompli on the Algerians in the installation of people who rejected the popular movement, while the demonstrations took place in several Algerian cities, rejecting the decision of the parliament to take over the presidency of Abdelkader bin Saleh temporarily, Over the past seven weeks.

The National Construction Movement called for continued movement in order to protect the Algerian people's choice, which is not achieved by the current authority, and to secure the country's future in the face of imminent threats.

The movement said in a statement that the Authority is intransigent to the demands of the people and adopts the policy of escaping forward by imposing a de facto policy by appointing people who refuse to move and calling on the movement to find a political solution that responds to the demands of the people.

For his part, said the head of the Algerian Justice and Development Front Abdullah Jaballah, that the people demanded change, and did not demand rotation, and that the regime is not legitimate, and what is issued is invalid.

The leader of the Rally for Culture and Democracy, Mohsen Belbas, said that what happened at the Palais des Nations was a coup against popular will and sovereignty for the third time, as he put it.

He pointed to the falsification of the real number of members of parliament in his chambers, in order to legitimize the inauguration of Ben Saleh, head of state.

Dispersing the demonstrators
Algerian police on Tuesday used tear gas and water cannons in Algiers to disperse thousands of students protesting against Tulya Ben Saleh as a transitional president, who called for strict enforcement during the current period of the constitution.

The French Press Agency said it was the first time in seven weeks that police used tear gas to disperse the student demonstration in this way.

Demonstrations took place in several Algerian cities, coinciding with the Algerian Parliament meeting in the capital, Sétif, Bouira, Chlef and Bordj Bou Arreridj.

The Parliament, in its chambers, the National People's Assembly and the Council of Nation formally approved the final vacancy for the post of President of the Republic. The declaration came in a session devoted to announcing the vacancy of the post after the resignation of Abdelaziz Bouteflika.

The Parliament also approved the appointment of Speaker of the National Assembly Abdelkader Ben Saleh as head of state for ninety days, in accordance with Article 102 of the Constitution. Several opposition parties boycotted the session of parliament and suggested that the text of Article 102 should not be adhered to and that constitutional reasoning should be used to find political solutions that would meet the demands of the popular movement.

Application of the constitution
For his part, the Algerian interim President Abdelkader Ben Saleh called for strict implementation during the current period of the content of the Constitution, and work hard, sincerity and dedication to return the word to the people in the selection of a president.

"We have a collective national duty that dictates to everyone to provide the most appropriate and efficient conditions to brief the next short period, to accelerate and launch a new stage in the life of the nation through the democratic choice of the Algerian people and self-determination," Ben Saleh said in a speech after being appointed head of state under Article 102 of the constitution. .

"I will work to achieve the ambitious goals, and I call on you at this time to work with all seriousness and sincerity in order to return the word as soon as the people to choose the president and his program and to chart his future."

For his part, Algerian Army Chief of Staff Ahmed Kayed Saleh said that the national army with the right of the Algerian people to be fully assured of the present and future of the country, according to the site of the Algerian newspaper Al Bilad.

Hundreds of thousands of Algerians have been demonstrating since February 22 to demand the departure of the regime. Bouteflika resigned on April 2 under pressure.
