After the attack on the Strasbourg Christmas market, the number of victims has risen to four. According to French prosecutors, another person died as a result of his injuries.

Two people, including a Thai tourist, were killed in the attack immediately, and a third party was subsequently declared brain-dead. Another victim died on Thursday. Whether the fourth dead man is the brain dead is not yet clear.

The 29-year-old Chérif Chekatt had allegedly opened the fire on Tuesday evening in downtown Strasbourg near the Christmas market. For two days he was on the run, on Thursday evening shot him special police units (read here a chronology of access).

Police are looking for accomplices

The investigators are looking for possible accomplices. "The investigation is now continuing to identify potential accomplices and accomplices who may have encouraged or helped to make the case," said Paris anti-terror prosecutor Rémy Heitz.
