"With the guidance of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, President of the Heart Foundation, the Foundation deals with the growing humanitarian needs of the affected groups according to two basic principles: the provision of immediate urgent assistance such as food, protection and social welfare to groups suffering under conditions that can not And to establish and support the service sectors, infrastructure and productive social projects, with the aim of gradually reaching the poor communities to a stage where they are able to produce their basic needs with their own strengths and with continuous follow-up by the Local and global responsible.

The Foundation said that last year the organization had 20 projects in 12 countries: Bangladesh, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Malaysia, Pakistan, Palestine and Syria, as well as four countries in which the organization operates for the first time: Tanzania, Mauritania, Sudan.

The projects have been allocated to vital sectors that constitute the lifeblood of individuals and communities, with a total of AED 47,896,662 allocated to support and rehabilitate the most important and vulnerable health care sector.

As for the education sector, the big heart allocated AED 4,500,000 to rehabilitate and equip schools for the reception and care of students, as well as providing the basic needs of educational staff and ensuring access to academic centers and institutions.

The Big Heart has provided AED2,654,978 to provide the basic needs of individuals and communities in the worst affected areas as a result of poverty and growing conflict or influx of refugees. The Foundation pointed out that this type of emergency assistance aims to address the daily needs of poor and affected people such as food and clothing Drinking water.

The foundation allocated AED 536,324 to support protection activities targeting refugee and displaced populations in cooperation with UNHCR and local authorities. The Foundation also contributed AED 734,636 to secure sustainable food sources for refugees, the poor and those affected by disasters in these countries, and to allocate AED1,362,302 for the construction of sewerage systems, hygiene facilities and protection of clean drinking water.

The Foundation pointed to the contributions of the funds it has established to support its diverse projects around the world. She pointed out that the Middle East and North Africa Fund contributed 60% of the aid to the region in the exceptional circumstances represented by the intensification of conflicts and the magnitude of the human tragedies resulting therefrom, Health and education, and the destruction of drinking and food sources, followed by the Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons Fund with a contribution of 17%, the Amira Fund for supporting cancer patients around the world by 16%, the Zakat Fund by 5%, the Palestinian Child Support Fund, .

Al Hammadi explained that the funds of the Big Heart Foundation carried out a number of specific projects during 2018, which aims at gradually empowering societies to provide their own needs, most notably the development of the main building of the National Cancer Institute in Cairo with funding from the MENA Fund.

The total activity of the Foundation last year amounted to 20 projects in 12 countries.
