Abu Dhabi Department of Community Development (ADDC) organized the official launch ceremony at the Louvre Abu Dhabi yesterday evening. The ceremony highlighted the strategy of the community development sector and reviewed the mechanism of implementing the department's vision of "a decent life for all members of society" The Abu Dhabi Social Survey, which showed the emirate's superiority in indicators of security, happiness and public satisfaction to the EU and ECO.

During the ceremony, the department presented a live interactive presentation on the seven axes of the community development sector.

Dr. Mughir Khamis Al Khaili, Head of the Department, revealed that the results of the social survey indicators for the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, which was developed by the Department, showed that the sense of security during the night exit is 90.4%, which is higher than the majority of the OECD countries. While the general satisfaction rate for life in Abu Dhabi reached 7.11 points compared to 6.5 points in the Economic Cooperation Organization. The index of happiness was 7.72 points compared to 7.5 points in the European Union countries, pointing out that the number of participants in the social survey of the Emirate reached 51 thousand, 60% of whom are residents.

He explained that the results of the survey showed the importance of launching initiatives in a number of areas, such as social support, senior citizens, stakeholders, institutions of public benefit (sector III), voluntary work, community participation, in addition to the family strategy.

He said that Abu Dhabi is characterized by strong and resilient social fabric, where all live in coexistence, unity and harmony. This is an indication of the authenticity of the values ​​that our society enjoys. It stems from the legacy of the founding father Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who made our country an example of respect. And accept the other.

He also stressed that the social survey is one of the mechanisms adopted by the Community Development Department in order to identify the needs of the society and identify its future aspirations. He pointed out that providing decent living and sustaining a decent lifestyle for all segments of Abu Dhabi society requires that the department be close to them Permanently and elaborately.

Social support and "Together"

The Community Development Department reviewed the Abu Dhabi Social Support Program, which aims to support low-income families, empowering their employees through rehabilitation and training, as well as the "Together" initiative, which promotes social contribution concepts by launching plans and initiatives that enhance community service.

The Department explained that the tasks of Ma'an will be based on four main axes: Providing and directing funding to community development institutions, embracing and strengthening institutions interested in contributing to social challenges, focusing on achieving results through the participation of the private sector and building a culture of community contribution and volunteering.
