The National Program for Happiness and Quality of Life has launched 120 practical models to enhance the quality of life in the work environment, providing government and private bodies with ideas, proposals and implementable applications to adopt the concept of quality of life in the UAE business environment and develop a four-pronged culture: Relationships, achievement of capacities, and consolidation of purpose.

The models represent one of the initiatives of the program to support institutions and human resources departments by providing new ideas and topics that enrich their programs and initiatives, and enhance and support the experiences of enterprises in adopting applications that consolidate the concepts and practices of quality of life in the work environment, and employ them to achieve the best results and enhance productivity and performance levels.

The program will carry out training programs and workshops for government and private sectors in the country.

The Minister of State for Health and Quality of Life, General Director of the Office of the Prime Minister, Ohud Bint Khalfan Al-Roumi, stressed that enhancing the quality of life in the work environment reflects positively on it and raises levels of performance and productivity and supports the efforts of governmental and private bodies to establish a working environment centered on human capital. Models are a useful practical mechanism that provides diverse, implementable ideas, proposals and applications.

The quality of life models in the work environment focus on positive human resources to enrich and develop human capital, focus on the role of positive leadership in motivating employees, and provide a set of scientific tools and practical applications to achieve the highest quality of life in the work environment.

The quality of life models in the work environment include four main axes: health, consolidation of relationships, realization of potentials and consolidation of the end. Each axis presents ideas, proposals and tools aimed at establishing a working environment in which employees enjoy the best quality of life. In the work environment, and constitute an operational tool for the guide to happiness and quality of life in the workplace, launched by the National Program of Happiness and Quality of Life in March 2018.

The first axis includes practical ideas and applications to enhance the quality of life in the work environment by focusing on the importance of promoting mental and physical health, emotional intelligence, psychological flexibility and mental alertness.

Life quality models in the workplace offer practical applications on how to achieve a better balance in professional life and create an environment that best practices in designing the environment and workplaces in a way that supports quality of life.

The second theme focuses on the reciprocal relationship between quality of life in the work environment and good professional relations, its impact on performance levels, and provides a range of tools and ideas to enhance linkages and employ the energy of professional relationships to achieve achievements and improve levels of performance and productivity.

The third axis focuses on empowering employees, building their abilities and developing their skills and opportunities for them to discover their potential and development. This role will contribute to establishing the quality of life in the work environment, reviewing the mechanisms of developing human resources and improving efficiency and performance.

The fourth axis deals with ways of linking the individual goal with the institutional goal, the practical tools to develop a common meaning and goal, and focuses on the importance of building an integrative formula between the individual meaning of having a clear vision of purposeful life and purposeful work and the institutional meaning that is formed from the goals that the institution seeks to achieve.
