Some 4,500 "yellow vests" demonstrated Saturday in the center of Bordeaux, according to the prefecture which recorded 14 arrests on the sidelines of the movement in the middle of the afternoon.

A minute of silence for the Strasbourg bombing. The "yellow vests" were summoned to two different demonstrations, one wanting to be pacifist, but the militants finally all joined the Place de la Bourse, near the Garonne, now traditional place of beginning of rally.

The "yellow vests" first observed a minute of silence for the victims of the attack in Strasbourg, "and for the yellow vests dead since the beginning of the movement", before singing the Marseillaise.

"Warning, we are not going to confront," warned a militant megaphone before the procession does not move to the song of "Macron, if you're champion, give us all the money".

A face-to-face meeting with the police. The procession crossed the city without violence, demonstrators even making a chain to divert the procession and prevent it from reaching the place Pey Berland, where are the cathedral and the town hall, and where the clashes took place last Saturday.

But in the middle of the afternoon, several hundred people forced their way and burst behind the cathedral, close to the gates of the town hall. They then began a tense confrontation with police forces, massed behind police vehicles, gates and "autonomous public restraint devices" (DRAP), a sort of articulated high-rise door intended to contain the crowd.

From 16h, the police stationed near the cathedral and the town hall, began to repel demonstrators by repeatedly operating a launcher and using tear gas. The protesters threw various projectiles, bottles or fireworks in tense fire. But no scene of looting or breakage has been recorded.
