"North Korea is considering stopping negotiations with the US"

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un is considering terminating negotiations with the United States on denuclearization.

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un is considering terminating negotiations with the United States on denuclearization.

That said the North Korean State Secretary for Foreign Affairs Choe Son-hui Friday according to, among others, the AP news agency at a press conference in the North Korean capital Pyongyang.

In the speech to diplomats and foreign media, Choe spoke of a "missed golden opportunity" by the United States to reach a nuclear deal during the recent meeting between Kim and US President Donald Trump.

The two leaders met in Hanoi earlier this month, discussing denuclearization and the reduction of sanctions on the Asian country. However, Kim and Trump were unable to reach an agreement in the Vietnamese capital.

According to Choe, the North Korean leader will soon decide whether to continue negotiations with the US. Should he stop the talks, chances are that North Korea will immediately start testing rockets again.
