The Arc de triumph of Paris was covered with smoke.

Thousands of yellow vest protesters and cops clash with tear gas, water cannons and boulders.

As you can see from the blockade of the Champs-Elysees streets which suffered great damage last week, violent demonstrations continued around the Arc de Triomphe to late at night.

Protesters across Paris have fired six buildings and dozens of vehicles, and have continued to ramp up to ramp up to shops.

More than 100 people, including police, were injured and 287 people were arrested in Paris alone.

As the yellow vest moves into violence, there is criticism.

[ANNE / PARIS CITIZENS: Unlike good protest demonstrations, there are some people who are able to break through malicious opportunities. It's unfortunate.]

President Mark Long called an urgent meeting yesterday morning to discuss violent measures such as the declaration of an emergency, expressing the principle of intolerance to violence.

The yellow vests are expected to continue the demonstrations every Saturday if their demands are not met, such as oil price cuts, so chaos is likely to continue for a while.
