After finding a grenade, a man in Venlo, the Netherlands, spent hours touching an explosive device to prevent an explosion. Only when explosives experts arrived, he could move away from the locality, the police said.

The man had therefore discovered on Wednesday evening at 21.15 clock during a walk an object. When he gave a hiss, he pushed his sleeve against it and dialed the distress call.

The police, in consultation with the man, decided that he would detain the explosive device until the arrival of the explosives rescue service. However, the team arrived only three hours later, said a spokeswoman for the competent security authority. It was far away at the time.

The man, according to the police, while holding the grenade in touch, received several blankets. His health was also continuously monitored.

The explosives experts finally found that no explosives were left in the grenade. That was not visible from the outside.

The man was able to move away from the grenade after this realization. According to the security agency, he was taken to a hospital for a medical examination.

The grenade came from the Dutch media, according to the Second World War.

In addition to the police information, other versions of the message circulated. So it was said that the man had found the grenade in excavation work in his garden. After covering it with sand and hearing a hiss, he allegedly sat down on the site to prevent an explosion.
