Where once clowns and acrobats ran through the arena, scholars now stand: The Technical University of Braunschweig has built a circus tent on its grounds. It is 18 meters high, bright red and rented by a club that otherwise hosts the Festival "KulturImZelt" in August and September.

For this year, the club has to look for a replacement, because the university has rented the smaller of the two circus tents that belong to the club, for the next 22 months. During this time, the auditorium and two lecture halls will be rehabilitated and students will have to dodge the lawn behind the House of Science where the tent now stands.

It once belonged to the circus Sarrasani, his longest journey was to Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. When the Sarrasani GmbH went bankrupt two years ago, it acquired the association, the "KulturImZelt" organized.
