Police have discovered a lion cub in an apartment near Paris. The one-and-a-half-month-old female was found in a cot in the community of Valenton, southeast of the French capital, according to investigators. The 30-year-old keeper was arrested for illegal possession of a wild animal.

The police-conscious man had hid in a cupboard when the officials arrived. Apparently he wanted to sell the lion cub. The officials had tracked the holder through videos on social networks. Accordingly, he called a price of 10,000 euros for the animal.

Already about a year ago, the police had found in another Parisian suburb a young lion locked up in an apartment in a cage. He was baptized "King" and taken to a South African reserve with the help of an animal welfare organization.
