During the shutdown in the US, 800,000 civil servants will not be paid a salary - for rock musician Jon Bon Jovi apparently a reason to support the officials and their families at least a little bit. He invited her to a complimentary meal at his JBJ Soul Kitchen restaurant in Red Bank, New Jersey.

The action takes place in cooperation with The Murphy Family Foundation. However, JBJ Soul Kitchen is not a normal place anyway: in 2011 Bon Jovi opened it as a charity restaurant. It works on the principle "everyone pays as much as he can", as CBS reports.

"If you come to this restaurant, there are no prices on the menu," said the singer according to 2016. Those in distress, could also cooperate, rather than pay. Other guests can also pay for meals for people they can not afford.

It is not the first culinary action for the shutdown officials. Canadian air traffic controllers recently sent hundreds of pizzas to their US counterparts.
