Dozens of medical devices have disappeared from hospitals in Lower Saxony and North Rhine-Westphalia - two weeks later, the high-quality prey has now appeared at Frankfurt Airport.

In parcels, customs officials found 40 stolen endoscopes worth about 1.2 million euros in Hanover as well as other devices stolen in Bielefeld, as reported by the Lower Saxony State Criminal Police Office. The investigators are based on a networked group of offenders who wanted to make their prey abroad. Therefore, the state criminal police had sensitized authorities and companies.

According to the Federal Criminal Police Office, thefts of high-quality medical devices have been piling up since 2015. The damage now adds up to more than 28 million euros.
