Because of a broken door lock, a pensioner from Husum did not come to her apartment last Saturday. Because she paid 1075 euros for the key emergency service, the criminal investigation department has now taken up investigations. The officials investigate suspicion of usury.
According to police, a neighbor of the 74-year-old called the locksmith. He had found the contact information on the Internet. An hour later, a gentleman appeared, who drilled the lock and used a new one. He had not negotiated a price with the woman before.
When the woman wanted to pay for the work of the key service with her debit card, she saw on the display the amount of 1075 euros. Surprised and perplexed, she entered and paid for her PIN, the police said. An invoice they did not receive from the Lord.
Later, the pensioner filed a complaint with the police. The officials suspect that the plight of the pensioner could have been exploited by the key service, since the payment is in disproportion to the service provided.
