A very strong earthquake shook the eastern part of Ecuador. The quake of magnitude 7.5 had occurred near the city of Montalvo at a depth of 132 kilometers, said the US earthquake USGS. The city is 17 kilometers south.
There are no reports of victims or damage from the quake near the border with Peru.
