Unnoticed by the driver, a bear in the US climbed onto a truck that was traveling to a dump.
The animal in the state of North Carolina was apparently hungry. The local sheriff suspects that the bear climbed onto the truck in search of food. There he was suddenly caught, as the driver fastened a net to prevent waste from falling out of the car.
An employee of the sheriff stopped the truck near Windsor as the bear sat on the roof under the net. According to the driver, the animal must have ridden at least for a stop in a neighboring district.
There are different messages about how the animal escaped the predicament. The news agency AP reported that the driver had moved away from the network. Other sources said the animal had freed itself.
In any case, the bear apparently survived the incident uninjured: After the net was removed, he ran into the woods.
