The police in Austria is looking for an 88-year-old woman: She was apparently kidnapped on Tuesday at 15.30 clock in Eisenstadt. According to police, the woman was traveling along the street with a nurse when two black limousines stopped next to the two. The nurse was pushed to the side and put the 88-year-old in one of the vehicles. When the cars drove away, the nurse alerted the police. The woman was not injured in the incident.

"The search for the perpetrators is running at full speed," said a police spokesman to the Austrian news agency APA. To the identity of the 88-year-olds, the authorities made for criminal tactical reasons and because of the protection of victims so far no information.

The incident sparked a massive police operation in the small town near the Hungarian border, according to APA. Around 5 pm, the authorities initiated a large search in the Eisenstadt area.

The Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF) reports that it is currently unclear whether there is a criminal background: there are indications that this may be an internal family dispute. Minister of the Interior Herbert Kickl (FPÖ) said on Tuesday evening in the ORF "Report", the search run. It is currently not sure, "whether it is a kidnapping in the classical sense". More details will be announced on Wednesday.
