The US singer R. Kelly has made up for new allegations of serious sexual abuse of minors the police. As a police spokesman said, the 52-year-old, who had a warrant, reported to the Chicago police on Friday night. He was taken into custody. On Saturday afternoon he will be presented to a magistrate.

Kelly has previously been charged with sexual abuse. The cases date from 1998 to 2010 and are centered on four partially minor victims, as Chicago's prosecutor Kim Foxx said Friday; three of them were between 13 and 16 years old at the time of the alleged abuse.

According to the prosecutor, formal charges have been made against Kelly in ten points, of which nine relate to the abuse of under 17-year-old victims.

For decades, the R & B musician has faced the charge of abusing underage women. In 2008, six years after the indictment, Kelly was acquitted of child pornography.
