The first meeting of the government's promotion headquarters for strengthening dementia countermeasures was held, and Prime Minister Kishida stated that the government should work together to implement the necessary efforts to realize a cohesive society where patients can live with dignity and hope. I instructed them to proceed.

In light of the enforcement of the Dementia Basic Act this month, which stipulates the responsibilities and roles of the national and local governments to strengthen dementia countermeasures, the government has established a new promotion headquarters headed by Prime Minister Kishida. The first meeting was held on the 26th.

In this regard, Prime Minister Kishida said, ``We hope to create a vibrant society in which each citizen, including patients, can fully demonstrate their individuality and abilities and coexist with each other while supporting each other, so that people with dementia can live with dignity and hope.'' We need to work to make this a reality."

After that, he instructed the government to work together to take necessary measures, such as strengthening support for elderly people with dementia who live alone, while carefully listening to the opinions of people in the medical and welfare fields, in addition to those affected by the disease.
