Three-year action plan for community hospital construction released

More than 500 community hospitals will be added annually across the country

  Primary medical and health institutions are the base of my country's medical and health service system.

According to statistics from the National Health Commission, by the end of 2022, the proportion of township health centers and community health service centers nationwide that meet service capacity standards will reach 68%, and a total of more than 3,800 community hospitals have been built, and the medical environment for people to see a doctor has been significantly improved.

  The "Plan" requires that by 2025, township health centers and community health service centers serving a population of more than 10,000 people will generally meet the capacity standards, and more than 20% of institutions nationwide will meet the recommended standards, including 30% in the Middle East, Central and Western Provinces respectively. %, 20% and above 10%; if the service population is less than 10,000 people or the institution has less than 10 employees, the service capacity shall be continuously improved according to the standards.

  The "Plan" puts forward specific requirements in terms of grassroots TCM service capabilities, medical emergency and pediatric construction.

First, improve grassroots TCM service capabilities, accelerate the construction of TCM clinics, strengthen the staffing of TCM doctors, and improve TCM service conditions in grassroots medical and health institutions.

The second is to make up for the shortcomings in medical emergencies, infectious disease response and pediatrics, improve the emergency and referral capabilities of township hospitals and community health service centers, and guide township hospitals and community health service centers that meet the capability standards to set up standardized fever clinics.
