Automobile manufacturer Daihatsu Motor Corporation has filed a recall with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism for more than 320,000 vehicles in two models due to concerns that all doors may become locked in the event of a side-to-side collision.

This problem was discovered during an investigation into the issue of fraudulently obtaining national certification.

The recall applies to two vehicle models manufactured between August 2015 and June 2023

, totaling more than 320,000 vehicles.



According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, in the event of a side collision, all doors of these vehicles will be locked, and it may take time to rescue the occupants.



There have been no reports of accidents so far.



This problem was discovered during the company's investigation into the issue of fraudulent acquisition of national certifications surrounding Daihatsu, and it is not caused by fraud.
