Regarding the Kashiwazaki-Kariwa Nuclear Power Plant in Niigata Prefecture, Tokyo Electric Power Company President Tomoaki Kobayakawa visited Kashiwazaki City and Kariwa Village on the 23rd, where the nuclear power plant is located, and explained measures to prevent a recurrence of counter-terrorism issues.

Regarding the Kashiwazaki-Kariwa Nuclear Power Plant, which has been plagued by a series of anti-terrorism problems, in December last year, the Nuclear Regulation Authority lifted the de facto operational ban order after confirming that the plant was in a state where autonomous improvements could be expected.

In response to this, TEPCO President Kobayakawa visited Kashiwazaki City and Kariwa Village, where the nuclear power plant is located, on the 23rd, where he delivered New Year's greetings and explained measures to prevent a recurrence in response to the counterterrorism problem.

He also informed that no particular problems have been confirmed at the Kashiwazaki-Kariwa Nuclear Power Plant due to the effects of the Noto Peninsula Earthquake.

After receiving the explanation, Masahiro Sakurai, the mayor of Kashiwazaki City, said, ``I believe there is significance in restarting the nuclear power plant, so I would like them to work on it while ensuring safety.''

In addition, Kariwa Village Mayor Hiroo Shinada said, ``I hope that the plant will restart operations within the year and support Japan's energy.''

After the meeting, President Kobayakawa said, ``While working to improve safety, we would like to fully explain to the local community and gain their understanding regarding restarting operations.''
