No pity between neighbors or teammates!

During a one-sided encounter, South Africa defeated Namibia (4-0) and gave itself the right to believe in qualifying for the round of 16 of this

CAN 2024

.

The Brave Warriors quickly got back to the heart of the matter, full of confidence after their

historic feat against Tunisia

.

Prins Tjiueza sounded the first alarm in the South African defense with a powerful shot at the edge of the area, too axial to deceive Ronwen Williams (2nd).

Peter Shalulile, the Namibian captain, then created a huge opportunity alone against the goalkeeper, but he rolled his attempt too far which passed right next to the opponent's goal (6th).

Put under pressure from the start by the Namibians, Bafana Bafana were able to breathe against the run of play by obtaining a penalty after a handball from Hanamub in the area.

Percy Tau masterfully converted this effort (14th, 1-0), scoring his very first goal in the African Cup of Nations at the same time.

Entering the match with a bang, the Namibians continued to insist on equalizing, notably on a good cross from Hanamub almost caught by Iimbondi in front of the goal (20th) or even on a ball which flew in front of the South African goal but Peter Shalulile and Deon Hotto could only scratch (22nd).

The offensive automatisms of their opponents then punished the Namibians: a perfectly slipped back cross by Thapelo Morena to Themba Zwane, both club teammates at Mamelodi Sundowns, allowed him to calmly adjust Kazapua with a powerful strike (25th, 2-0).

The South Africans could have scored again with a breakthrough from Magkopa, who lost his duel against Kazapua (33rd).

But it was again Themba Zwane, starting on the left of the area, who scored a double by easily adjusting the Namibian goalkeeper to increase the score (40th, 3-0).

Ultra-realistic Bafana Bafana in attack

Largely trailing at half-time, the Brave Warriors tried to regain their offensive enthusiasm in the second half but they were completely muzzled by the South Africans.

Bethuel Muzeu woke up his teammates with the first Namibian opportunity of the second act: left alone in the area, he wanted to serve Shalulile in front of Williams' goal, without success (64th).

As the match began to get into a false rhythm, Thapelo Maseko took advantage of a long ball over the defense to rush towards Kazapua.

His powerful shot was poorly captured by the Namibian goalkeeper, who let it finish in the net (75th, 4-0).

Far from being satisfied after this offensive festival, the South African supporters immediately demanded a fifth goal from the stands.

Stunned after this demonstration by their South African neighbors, the Namibians still remain alive in Group E and can secure a historic qualification in the round of 16 against Mali, current leader, on January 24.

South Africa is relaunching for its part with this great success and is ideally positioned before the start of the 3rd day of the group stage.
