Due to a bomb threat, Euro-Airport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg temporarily suspended its flight operations on Sunday morning.

In addition, the terminal was evacuated, as the airport at the border triangle between France, Switzerland and Germany announced on X.

“Passengers are asked to contact their airline to find out more about their flight,” says the social network.

"We regret this inconvenience." According to further information, access to Euro Airport, which is located on French territory, was closed shortly before 6 a.m.

The prefecture of the Haut-Rhin department in Upper Alsace announced on X that the airport would remain closed until at least 9:30 a.m.

Almost an hour and a half later, the airport is still closed, according to the message on the website.

Last October, Euro Airport and several other regional airports in France were affected by false bomb threats: up to six airports, including Lille, Lyon and Toulouse, were evacuated after threats of attacks.

On Friday, French police announced that they had arrested a 13-year-old because of more than 380 threats, particularly against airports, courts and universities.

An investigation was initiated against the student; he admitted that he had acted out of “playfulness” and without any political or religious intention.
