In the stress of moving

Kenyan rangers pull an anesthetized black rhino from a body of water in Nairobi National Park.

Kenya's nature conservation authority has decided to relocate 21 of the particularly endangered Black Rhinos from the national park and two private reserves to a reserve in the highlands.

There the shy loners should have more space to reproduce undisturbed.

According to official information, the number of black rhinos in Kenya has roughly quadrupled since 1984 thanks to increased measures to combat poachers: from 240 to the current 977 animals.
