Dutch police have seized a record amount of more than two tonnes of ketamine.

Never before had such a large amount of the narcotic been discovered in the Netherlands, police said.

The ketamine was found in a shed in Muiderberg, east of Amsterdam.

According to police, it has a sales value of around 55 million euros.

According to the information, the police received an anonymous tip and searched the shed.

That was at the beginning of January, but the investigators only reported about it now.

A 55-year-old man was arrested.

Ketamine is a prescription anesthetic that is also used illegally as a party drug.
