The 75th Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony for achievements in the field of television was held in Los Angeles. Awards were presented in 26 nominations. The leaders in terms of the number of prizes were the series "Descendants" and "The Bear", which won in six categories.

The project "Heirs" about the struggle for power between members of the family that owns a media conglomerate was recognized as the best drama series. Such sensational films as "The White Lotus", "House of the Dragon", "The Crown", "Andor", "The Last of Us" and "Better Call Saul" also claimed the prize. The latter has been nominated for an Emmy 53 times during its existence, but has not won a single prize.

The main acting awards in the nominations for multi-part dramas were also taken by the Descendants team: Kieran Culkin and Sarah Snook — for the leading roles, and Matthew McFadyen — for the male supporting role. In addition, the project was awarded statuettes for Best Director (Mark Mylod) and Screenplay (Jesse Armstrong).

"It's a show about family, but it's also about a situation where partisan political views and news coverage are intertwined with divisive right-wing politics. Now, after four seasons of our satire, as I understand it, this problem has been solved," Armstrong joked.

In total, since the release of the first season, the project has collected 20 Primetime Emmy statuettes. "The Descendants" ended in May 2023 and became the fourth series in the history of the award to win at the end of the last season: only "Game of Thrones", "The Sopranos" and "Breaking Bad" were as successful.

The series "The Bear" follows the adventures of a young chef who runs his family business in Chicago. The project was named the best serial comedy, and the lead actor Jeremy Allen White received the prize for the best comedy actor. Ebon Moss-Bakrak and Ayo Edebíri, who played supporting roles, also received awards. Among other things, the project won in the nominations "Best Director of a Comedy Series" and "Best Written Comedy Series" — both prizes were received by Christopher Storer.

Five statuettes were taken by the authors of the series "Squabble", the heroes of which accidentally meet as a result of a conflict on the road and become malicious enemies. The project was recognized as the best mini-series, and its creators took prizes for directing and screenplay (Lee Sung-jin), as well as for leading roles (Steven Yeun, Ali Wong).

"It seems to me that our world is designed in such a way that we are always separated... Even among those present, some will return home with awards, others without. Living in such a world, some people, I believe, come to the conclusion that you will never be able to receive understanding, sympathy, and even more so love from anyone. And when working on Squabble, it was truly a pleasure to work with people who love unconditionally. Thank you," Lee Sung-jin said.

The 2022 triumphant "The White Lotus" won in one category this time: Jennifer Coolidge, who played Tanya McQuaid, won the award for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.

Other Primetime Emmy winners include Abbott Elementary School (Quinta Brunson, Best Actress in a Comedy Series), Black Bird (Paul Walter Hauser, Best Supporting Actor in a Miniseries, Anthology or TV Movie) and Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story (Niecy Nash, Best Supporting Actress in a Miniseries, Anthology or TV Movie).

Elton John won his first Emmy for a live broadcast of a concert at Dodger Stadium and became the 19th artist in history to win four major awards: Oscars, Grammys, Emmys and Tony.

A week before the announcement of the winners in the main categories of the Primetime Primetime Emmy Awards, awarded for technical achievements and makeup, were held. The leader in these categories was the series The Last of Us, which was awarded eight statuettes. The filmmakers won awards for Best Plastic Makeup for a TV Series, Miniseries or Television Movie, Visual Effects, Title Title Design, Editing and Sound Mixing in a Series with Hour-Long Episodes, Image Editing, and Guest Participation of Actors (Storm Reed and Nick Offerman).

The second place in terms of the number of awards is shared by "Bear", "White Lotus" and "Wednesday", each with four victories. For example, the authors of "The White Lotus" took the prizes for the best casting in a drama and hairstyle, "Wednesday" — makeup and costumes, and "The Bear" — for sound in a series with half-hour episodes and casting in a comedy.
