Regarding the probation disposition applied to three cults such as "Aleph", which changed its name from Aum Shinrikyo, the Public Safety Review Committee decided to renew the period for three years, saying that "there is a risk of indiscriminate mass murder and it is necessary to clarify the status of activities."

The cult "Aleph", which changed its name from Aum Shinrikyo, and the "Hikari no Wa" and "Yamada et al.'s group", which split from the cult, are subject to a probation ban that requires regular reporting of their activities based on the "Group Regulation Law" that targets groups that have committed indiscriminate mass murders in the past.

Since this deadline expires at the end of January, the Public Security Investigation Agency requested the Public Security Review Commission to renew the period in October last year.

Then, on the 1th, the Public Security Review Committee decided to renew the period of probation for three years, saying that "there is a risk that any group will engage in indiscriminate mass murder and it is necessary to continue to clarify the status of activities," and notified the cult and the Public Security Investigation Agency.

At a press conference, the chairman of the Public Security Review Committee, Makoto Kaiami, said, "The three groups should change their closed and deceitful attitudes, faithfully fulfill the obligations imposed by the probation, and actively clarify the actual situation."
