Chinanews.com, December 12 According to the website of the State Administration for Market Regulation, recently, the State Administration for Market Regulation, together with the National Health Commission and the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, issued the "Catalogue of Health Food Raw Materials - Ginseng", "Catalogue of Health Food Raw Materials - American Ginseng", "Catalogue of Health Food Raw Materials Ganoderma lucidum" (hereinafter referred to as the three catalogues) and supporting interpretation documents.

The names and sources of raw materials of ginseng, American ginseng and Ganoderma lucidum, which are included in the catalogue of raw materials for the record of health foods, are consistent with the contents of the same varieties in the current Chinese Pharmacopoeia.

According to the provisions of the three catalogs, the raw materials included in the catalogue of raw materials for the record of health food can only be used unilaterally when the product is recorded, and cannot be used in combination with other raw materials; For raw materials with multiple varieties of origin, the varieties used should be clearly defined when the product is recorded.

In the three catalogs, ginseng and American ginseng are allowed to claim health care functions including helping to enhance immunity and relieve physical fatigue, and when the product is recorded, the filer is allowed to mark one of the health care functions, or two health care functions at the same time; Reishi mushroom allows for purported health benefits as helping to boost immunity.

The State Administration for Market Regulation sorted out and summarized the technical review of registered products with ginseng as raw material in the past, and determined the source of raw materials and safety indicators by organizing special seminars with technical and management experts in the traditional Chinese medicine industry, and put forward future regulatory ideas for products with traditional Chinese medicinal materials as raw materials.
