As soon as a Banksy work is discovered stolen from London

Banksy's work stolen. It happened in south-east London, in Peckham, on Friday morning. Two men were arrested over the weekend. The world-famous street artist has always managed to keep his anonymity. His creations regularly go viral. The artwork, which has now been stolen, is said to evoke a call to stop the war.

Banksy's new work was authenticated on the morning of Friday, December 22. Barely an hour later, two men snatched it away. One of them, perched on a bicycle, equipped with wire cutters, managed to escape with it.

Under the astonished gaze of passers-by... They filmed, took pictures... Plus the surveillance cameras... It didn't take long for the police to find them.

The youngest, in his twenties, was arrested the day before yesterday and later released on bail pending further investigation.

The second, in his forties, was arrested on Sunday, December 24, and remains in detention.

In the meantime, a new stop sign has been installed to make the road safer, police said.

Banksy's work is worth millions of euros. The red sign could cost more than $500,000, according to one gallery owner. The media attention has just made it even more valuable.
