The Golden Globe Awards are an award chosen by an organization made up of foreign reporters who specialize in covering the film industry in the United States, and are positioned as a prelude to the Academy Awards, the largest festival in the American film industry.

The nominees for each award were announced in Los Angeles on the 11th, and Hayao Miyazaki's "How Do You Live" and Makoto Shinkai's "Suzume's Doorlock" were selected as nominees for Best Animated Film.

Of these, "How Do You Live" was directed for the first time in 10 years after Miyazaki retracted his retirement announcement, and he was also in charge of the original story and screenplay, and it took about seven years to make.

"Suzume's Doorlock" is a film about a high school girl who experienced an earthquake when she was a child and goes on an adventure while traveling around Japan to close the "door" that is the source of disaster.

In addition, Yuzuru Hisaishi, who was in charge of the music for "How Do You Live?", was nominated for the Best Composition Award.

Six films were nominated for the Most Watched Best Drama category, including Oppenheimer, which is based on a scholar who directed the development of the atomic bomb dropped on Japan.

The 7st annual Golden Globe Awards will be announced on January 6.
