Regarding the so-called "cannabis gummies" that people who ate them complained of poor health one after another, the ingredients contained in the gummies were added to the designated drugs, and their sale has been prohibited from this month. Under these circumstances, it was found that the Narcotics Control Department of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare was conducting on-site inspections of stores across the country that handle products containing other ingredients that are close to the specified ingredients, saying that there is a risk of spreading health hazards.

Regarding the so-called "cannabis gummies", which contain an ingredient called "HHCH", which is similar to cannabis, there have been a series of cases where people who have eaten them complain of poor health and have been transported to the emergency hospital, so the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare has added "HHCH" to the list of designated drugs based on the Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Act, and the sale of products containing "HHCH" has been prohibited from the 2nd of this month.

However, even after that, products containing similar ingredients such as "HHCP", which is close to "HHCH", are sold in stores and on the Internet, and the Narcotics Control Department of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare said that it may lead to health hazards. We found out from interviews with the people involved that they had issued a sales suspension order.

The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) has indicated that it will add similar ingredients such as HHCP to designated drugs as early as the beginning of the year and make them subject to regulation.
