A 23-year-old man in Chiba Prefecture who was infected with the new coronavirus died because he did not properly transport the ambulance, and the man's parents filed a lawsuit seeking compensation of more than 1 million yen in accordance with the national government and Chiba Prefecture.
According to the parents' lawyers, this is the first time they have sued the state over the ambulance transport of Covid patients.

The lawsuit was filed by the parents of a 2021-year-old man from Funabashi City, Chiba Prefecture, who died in August 8 after being infected with the new coronavirus, and held a press conference in Tokyo on the 23th.

According to the complaint, a man with an underlying illness repeatedly requested emergency transport due to fever and other symptoms after being infected with the new coronavirus, but was refused transport because the hospital to accept him could not be decided.

At the fifth request, the man was put in an ambulance from his home, but for about an hour and a half, he could not decide where to take him, and he went into cardiopulmonary arrest in the car and died of pneumonia after being taken to the hospital.

In addition to Funabashi City, which operates the public health center, and Chiba Prefecture, which coordinated the hospital to which the patient was transported, the parents also claim responsibility to the national government, saying that they had the authority to give the necessary instructions to the prefecture, and are seeking compensation of about 5 million yen in total.

According to the lawyer, this is the first time the government has sued the country over the ambulance transport of a Covid patient.

At the press conference, the man's father tearfully said, "The world has the impression that the coronavirus is over, but we are fighting from now on.
