Cambridge, September 9 (Reporter Ouyang Kaiyu) With the theme of "harmony", the six-week Cambridge Xu Zhimo Poetry and Art Festival opened before the six-week Cambridge Xu Zhimo Poetry and Art Festival, and a number of special cultural exchange activities have been held so far to further promote people-to-people exchanges between China and the UK.

During the opening ceremony, the festival organising committee held six book launches and seminars, including a dialogue between Alan McFarlane, professor of social anthropology at the University of Cambridge, and Academy Award winner for Best Art Direction, "Wonder and Art – McFarlane in Conversation with Tim Yip" (English version); American artist and Western oil painting restoration expert Anne Ma Xing's art collection "When the West Meets the East - East Asian Brush Painting" (English and French bilingual version); Yan Zhi, vice president of the Chinese Poetry Society, wrote a long poem "Elegy and Remembrance" (English version); Chinese poet Li Shaojun's poetry anthology I am a man with the sea (English version); Young art historian Hongyi Yang's scholarly work The Cambridge Trio of Fry, Willie and Dickenson: A Discussion on Chinese Modern Art in the UK (English version) and Professor Alan McFarlane's dialogue collection Understanding Modernity during the pandemic.

A poetry reading in the Vice-Chancellor's Residence at King's College Cambridge. Steve Corner, a lecturer in musicology at York University in the United Kingdom, sang the song "Go" with Chinese accompaniment to her own piano accompaniment. The song was composed by her with lyrics based on Xu Zhimo's poem "Go" written in 1924. Steven Chelly, Vice-President of King's College Cambridge, Tim Yip, winner of the Academy Award for Best Art Direction, and You Xinquan, a Cambridge scholar, recited the poem in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.

During the 9th Cambridge Tsui Chi Mo Poetry and Art Festival, Professor Alan McFarlane, Chairman of the Festival, presented several awards, including: Tsui Chi Mo Lifetime Achievement Award: Tim Yip (Arts), Lucy Hamleton (Literature); Xu Zhimo Poetry Prize: Yu Haisian, Yan Zhi, Nisha Ramaya; Xu Zhimo Art Award: Anne Ma Xing; Xu Zhimo Music Award: Steve Corner; Xu Zhimo International Cultural Exchange Award: Michael Proctor.
