A 67-year-old spectator has been seriously injured after being gored in the leg by the horn that this Tuesday morning has starred in Tordesillas (Valladolid) the celebration of the Toro de la Vega, which has sown panic by breaking the talanquera, escaping the route and wallowing several people.

He was gored in one of his legs, so after being practiced a tourniquet has been evacuated urgently to the infirmary of the bullring of the municipality, where he has been operated, as explained to EFE the president of the Red Cross in Tordesillas, Iván de la Cruz.

After being operated, this neighbor of Tordesillas has been evacuated in an ambulance to the University Clinical Hospital of Valladolid, according to reports in its digital edition of the newspaper El Norte de Castilla.

The animal was anesthetized with a tranquilizer dart by the field team responsible for the celebration and transferred in a vehicle-shovel to the corrals of the arena, thus concluding a show that lasted about an hour and fifteen minutes.

The wounded, who was bleeding profusely, witnessed the celebration in the wooden palisade that delimits the fenced area of the open field, near the roundabout that separates two roads towards Salamanca and Madrid.

In this place the bull was placed, named 'Mirabajo', a five-year-old horn, of 550 kilos and shoeed in the Salamanca livestock of Pío Tabernero de Vilvís, who undertook the wooden palisade, broke the thick wooden crossbars and escaped towards the old road to Madrid.

In his flight he rolled over several spectators and impitoned one of them in an area that is usually very crowded with trailers, shovels, trucks and other vehicles where many people are located to contemplate the spectacle.

The Toro de la Vega, framed in the patron saint festivities of Tordesillas, is celebrated without spears as was traditional and without death in public as was traditional, until it was banned in 2016 by the Junta de Castilla y León through a decree-law.

In January of last year the City Council of Tordesillas, always within the law, tried to recover the character of a tournament with the proposal of a contest consisting of nailing ornate harpoons, in the manner of the currencies that the horns wear in bullfights to identify their origin.

An appeal filed by the Party Against Animal Abuse (PACMA) frustrated this initiative by being paralyzed by the Superior Court of Justice of Castilla y León (TSJCyL), so since 2016 the Toro de la Vega has the category of traditional bullfighting show similar to the release of a bull from a drawer.

However, the animal's trapío, schedule, scenario and organization are exactly the same as the traditional spear tournament already suppressed.
