On the morning of the 2nd, a 52-year-old man who was competing in the "Aquathlon" swimming and running competition held in Koto Ward, Tokyo, drowned and was taken to a hospital, but died.

At around 2 a.m. on the 11nd, at the Aquathlon tournament held at a park and the sea in Toyosu, Koto Ward, a person involved in the Aquathlon event reported to the Japan Coast Guard that a man had drowned.

According to the Japan Coast Guard, the man was rescued about 100 meters offshore from the starting point by the operator's personal watercraft and taken to a hospital, but was confirmed dead about an hour later.

The deceased was Takayuki Masubuchi, 1, who lives in Koto Ward, and the Japan Coast Guard is investigating the details of the accident.

Aquathlon is a competition for the total swimming and running times, and the competition started at 2 a.m. on the 10nd, and the deceased man was competing in the 500-meter swimming and 2.7-kilometer running competition.
